Entering Boeing Supplier System, Tiancheng Controls Achieved Sharp Increase in Sales Revenue of Aircraft Seat Business

2022-04-26

Since the acquisition of ACRO Aircraft Seating Limited (England) ACRO) in 2017, Tiancheng Controls (TC) has made breakthroughs in customer development of its aircraft seat business. In 2021, the aircraft business sector achieved rapid growth; at the same time, the construction of production base for localization of aircraft seat components proceeded smoothly. Another major success in 2021 was that TC acquired the supplier qualification of Boeing and formally became its qualified line-assembly supplier.

Business Development of ACRO

ACRO Aircraft Seating Limited, a British subsidiary of Tiancheng Controls, has been rated as A-class Supplier of Airbus for consecutive years in terms of aircraft seat business. In addition to its prominent performance in Airbus Supplier System, in 2021, it acquired the supplier qualification of Boeing and formally became a qualified line-assembly supplier that was licensed to assemble on mainstream models such as Boeing 737. Meanwhile, ACRO received an aircraft seat order of 75 Boeing 737 aircrafts from Allegiant Airlines, which meant that ACRO's products still had sufficient competitiveness and outstanding performance in Boeing Supplier System.

Localization of Aircraft Seat Components

TC has achieved initial success in localization of aircraft seat components. As an important strategic plan in aircraft seat business, localization will effectively reduce the production cost of aircraft seats, improve market competitiveness, and foster a simultaneous growth in revenue and profit. In March of 2021, carbon-fibre back panels manufactured in China have achieved batch supply for aircraft seats. In December of 2021, TC realized the localization of the main raw materials (prepregs) for carbon-fibre back panels of aircraft seats. In 2022, TC will transfer the manufacture of aluminium alloy parts for aircraft seats to domestic plants, which will significantly improve the profitability of aircraft seat business

Layout in Domestic Aircraft Market

TC will continue to be optimistic about the development of the global aircraft industry and lay out the domestic aircraft market in advance. In September of 2021, TC's aircraft seats have entered Selection Center of COMAC (Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China) in Pudong, Shanghai, where customers worldwide can visit, experience and order TC’s aircraft seats.

Establishment of the relationship between Boeing and COMAC in 2021 marks that TC formally built the partnership with Boeing, Airbus and COMAC, which means TC is getting more and more influential globally in the field of aircraft seats. With the global increase in market demand, it will be a great business opportunity for TC to make breakthroughs in aircraft seat business.
